Your Twassistant
You can communicate through phone, email, Skype, or any other internal tools you use in your business. Email is usually the best way of communicating, because of the differences in time zones and the paper trail left in case you’re not 100% happy, but you and your Twassistant can always decide on a better communication plan.
We encourage you to treat them like your own employee, and if they like you and are excited to work for you, they’ll give better results. Here are the top three tips for having a good relationship with your Twassistant:
- Communicate your expectations clearly. The biggest problems can arise when each person has different expectations. Take enough time up front to explain clearly what you want, and give examples if possible. Over time, as in any relationship, you and your Twassistant will understand each other more and it will be easier, but make the effort especially in the beginning of the relationship to be clear. If you’re having a hard time, just let us and know and we’ll mediate the relationship or find you a new Twassistant.
- Be encouraging. Your Twassistant wants to make you happy and would love to hear positive feedback from you about their work. Sending them personal encouragement regularly will keep them excited to work for you.
- Don’t be confrontational. Give your Twassistant the benefit of the doubt if they didn’t do things exactly the way you wanted. Just let them know they made a mistake and explain how you want it to be fixed, but stay focused on the work and not on their abilities. Assume that they are capable of the work, but just didn’t understand your expectations. Many of the Twassistants are from non-confrontational cultures and may be very uncomfortable with a blunt and insulting approach.
The Twassistants are from all over the world, but many come from the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Kenya, and Ecuador. Feel free to ask your Twassistant where they are from and get to know a little bit about them and their country, they usually have some very interesting stories!
If you’d like to hire someone from a specific country, either for on-the-ground support, or for familiarity with local cultures and languages, please do let us know.
If you’re not getting along with your Twassistant for any reason, it’s no problem connecting you with someone more suitable, just let us know!
Any Twassistant who is found to be working outside of the Twassistant system with a client that they met through Twassistant will no longer receive any more work from us. This is protect you, us, and the Twassistant. For you, outside the Twassistant system there are no satisfaction guarantees, no secure payment systems, and no local support. For the Twassistant, they lose our ethical framework that ensures they receive a fair wage for their work. And for us, of course, we lose the return on investment for all the work we put into building a relationship and good systems for both you and the Twassistant. All our Twassistants are very clearly instructed on this policy, and if they ever offer to work with you directly outside of the Twassistant systems, please let us know.
Plans
Our monthly plans are determined based on the experience level and skill set of your assistant, and we will work with you to find the right person within your budget. An assistant with a standard set of administrative skills will cost around $8/hour, or if you hire them full-time, $7.5/hour.
Each person you hire will be on a separate plan, since each person has a different set of skills and experience, and therefore a different cost. Let us know what you’re hoping to achieve and we’ll see what we can do!
Typically yes, but if you would like to hire someone else on a part-time basis to support with some specialized skills, we can make that work for you.
Not at this time. We do offer consulting services where we manage a team on your behalf for a specific project, please contact us to talk further about that.
Payment Systems
If you want your Twassistant to make a monetary transaction for you online, they can do that for you, and will never have access to your credit card or payment information. Instead, they will upload the purchase to our server, and we will process that transaction onto your credit card automatically. No one either in our Toronto office or overseas will ever have direct access to your credit card. If you like, you can elect to have all transactions approved by you before they are processed onto your credit card, and they will always be reviewed by the Toronto office before they are approved.
We accept Mastercard, Visa, and American Express through an external payment processing service, Stripe, which ensures your payment information always remains completely secure.
About Us
We have three main distinctions: An intensive recruiting process that finds the top 10% talent globally, ongoing support to ensure your assistant remains engaged and a productive member of your team, and a commitment to never exploit overseas economies, but to help develop and grow their economies by paying middle-class wages to your assistant.
We promise that if you are unhappy with your service, and we can’t resolve the issue, we’ll refund your money for that task. We also are committed to giving you a great experience, so after every task performed by your Twassistant, we welcome your feedback, and if it’s anything less than a 5 star experience, we’ll be in touch about how we can improve in the future and make sure you always are happy with your service.
